Not all who wander are lost .... the Wandering CAT (Creative Arts Therapist)

One of my favourite quotes of all time is from JRR Tolkien:

Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.

After a year of finishing my Masters in Therapeutic Arts and visiting my children in SE Asia where they have taken up residence (let's face it, it's a lot warmer there than it is in Canada 7 months of the year!), I am now settling back into 'normal' life. But, over the past month, I have been contemplating what that might look like while I move through hoops to get my counselling license, establish my Creative Arts Therapy practice and find routine in an otherwise quiet and extremely available life!

As I contemplate what's next for me, I can feel this eager anticipation to take flight again. I am a wanderer in the deepest part of my heart and travelling the world gets me super excited! Having lived in Australia and Canada, my feet are itching again to move. And from this itch, I have born the Wandering CAT (Creative Arts Therapist). The opportunity to work abroad and travel is so appealing and completely doable in this field. I have set my sights on building an online practice and working with people in places that inspire me while, in turn, inspiring my clients in their creativity, healing and transformation.

In a recent podcast I listened to with Peter Crone, I learned that it's our doubts that hold us back from action, not our failures. How many times have you been scared to try something new because you thought you might fail? Many ideas have failed to take on life because of our fears of failing.

And so, my heart yearns to see the world through the eyes of an inquirer, a creator and a wanderer. I am building an online presence and would love for you to join me on my journey. Yes, I bit the bullet in my near 50th year on this earth plane and joined TikTok and I even made a YouTube profile!!! Talk about upgrading my social media skills! So feel free to subscribe on whatever platform you choose to stay connected and keep an eye out at The Studio for more creative initiatives I will be rolling out this year!
